This past weekend, July 20-21, LRGP represented in a big way at The Fiesta Caliente Latin Music and Arts Festival in Mammoth Lakes, California!
It was a free family festival featuring multicultural arts from Latin America.
Saturday celebrated music from around Latin America. Sunday focused on music and arts from Mexico; Latin American food (Brazilian BBQ, even tequila tasting).
A number of arts and crafts were featured. LRGP artists Irene Lugo, Jesus Barela and Raul Mejia teamed up with the Mono Council group to share the Dia de los Muertos tradition by leading workshops demonstrating sugar skulls making, marigold flowers creation, mask-making and an altar.
LRGP's participation in this exciting event was made possible by support from NEA, James Irvine Foundation, and the California Arts Council.
